Study shows prebiotics, lactoferrin make rats calmer

In a study that advances the state of evidence for the gut-brain connection, scientists in Colorado have shown that prebiotics and other fractions derived from human milk can reduce anxiety in juvenile rats and induce other changes in the brain.

ANVISA grants DuPont health claim for probiotic

The Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (ANVISA) has approved a health claim for DuPont Nutrition & Health’s Bifidobacterium lactis HN019 probiotic strain for gastrointestinal health.

DSM CFO Geraldine Matchett said the company has built up an inventory of supplies to meet customer demand while its vitamin C facility in China is shut down for four months.
