According to SPINS, sales of weight management supplements declined 14% year-over-year. At the same time, the likes of GNC, Nestle Health Science, iHerb and others have pivoted the positioning of some products to support consumers dealing with side effects associated with GLP-1 medication, from reduced nutrient absorption and muscle loss to the impacts on digestive health.

The content program for the Weight Management Summit will feature sessions focused on the state of the market, the regulatory landscape, the science behind natural alternatives touted to have GLP-1 agonist activity—from berberine to resistant starch prebiotics and Akkermansia, supporting GLP-1 drugs and their side effects, and how best to communicate all this to consumers.
