Asma Ishaq leads charge in ‘mental wellness revolution’
With a focus on the gut-brain axis and a healthy microbiome, Amare Global enlisted Asma Ishaq to lead the charge in what she calls ‘the mental wellness revolution’ by offering clinically-validated products that target the gut-brain axis.
“We are really connected to our purpose, which is a community of passionate people who have this vision to lead the mental wellness revolution. And so we combine ancient wisdom of natural foods and ingredients like we do in our nutrition industry of course, with modern scientific innovations that actually helped develop some really innovative products that are also clinically-validated to help support benefits like vigor, happiness, stress resilience, mental performance, for example, and whole body wellness,” she explained.
Ishaq said her background in natural products has prepared her for the new role, as she has a track record of developing successful products. She spent 7 years at Modere, where she earned a reputation for being a collagen pioneer. During her tenure, the company was named in Newsweek a Top 100 Most Loved Workplace, ranked a Fastest Growing Woman-Led Company and she was named NutraIngredients-USA’s NutraChampion. However, Ishaq said it was time to move on to her next challenge and Amare Global was perfectly aligned with her vision.
“I am all about product. The central most important aspect of the business is the quality of life that you can impact by making sure that you deliver efficacious, clinically-validated products. And so not only did the product align with me because I am a believer and actually a developer of products that fall right into this microbiome health category, but when I saw what we were also going to be launching in the future, that's when I really started saying, ‘you know, I really think I can work with this.’”
