Science, market forces, challenges and opportunities in the spotlight in Anti-Aging forum
Experts from Nutrilite/Amway, Atrium Innovations, Unistraw, and CosmeticsDesign will discuss the challenges and opportunities in the beauty-from-within category in a FREE forum hosted by NutraIngredients-USA.

Euromonitor International estimated the value of beauty supplements to be $2.9 billion in 2015, with the US market valued at $76 million.

The category is dominated by products formulated with collagen, antioxidants, biotin, omega-3s, and some botanical extracts, but how substantial is the science to support the potential effects? How do brands manage consumer expectations when seeing is believing? And what lessons can we learn from more established beauty-from-within markets like Japan?

In this one hour forum, NutraIngredients-USA will get answers to these questions and more.

The NutraIngredients-USA Anti-Aging forum will be held on Thursday, July 28 at 11 AM Eastern time and includes the following expert panelists:

Dawna Venzon

Dawna Venzon, PhD, RDN, Principal Research Scientist in Nutrition Research and Clinical Investigation at Nutrilite. ​Dr Venzon plays an integral role in the scientific and clinical research programs to develop and support the Nutrilite product lines, including Double X reformulations, Memory Builder, Vitamin C Plus Extended Release, and Truvivity Moisture Beauty Supplement. Dr. Venzon received her Bachelor in Science degree in Nutrition and Food Science, Dietetics Option, from Utah State University, Cum Laude.  Shortly after graduation she obtained her Registered Dietitian credential from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.  Dr Venzon received her PhD from University of Southern California (USC) in Neuroscience. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, the Society of Sports and Cardiovascular Nutritionists, Dietitians in Functional and Integrative Nutrition, The Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior, and the Society for Neuroscience. 

Barry Ritz

Barry Ritz, PhD, VP of Scientific and Regulatory Affairs at Atrium Innovations​: Dr. Ritz is involved in a number of professional organizations, including the American Society of Nutrition, and Chairs the Council for Responsible Nutrition’s Senior Scientific Advisory Council.  His research interests in nutrition science include the evaluation of immunomodulatory nutraceuticals and the influence of age and nutritional status on the innate immune response.  Dr. Ritz has presented his research at national and international meetings and has numerous publications in scientific journals and texts.  In 2016, Atrium Innovations received the prestigious NBJ Award for Achievement in Science and Innovation.

Carl Freund, President, North America, Unistraw Corp​: Carl’s experience falls in the consumer products and wellness areas, helping build brands and businesses through a combination of direct to consumer, retailer, and B2B partnerships. Helping bring natural oral and skin care products to the masses in the early 2000’s, was followed by a probiotics startup at Ganeden Biotech, where he led the consumer products business that helped define “good bacteria” being directly connected to the health and wellness of the mainstream consumer.
