Kyowa’s Setria meets US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) monograph for glutathione
Kyowa Hakko USA has announced that its Setria glutathione ingredient meets the US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) monograph for the ingredient, raising awareness of the quality and purity of the ingredient.
“Recently, the USP dietary supplements compendium released the first monograph for glutathione,” said Dr Danielle Citrolo, PharmD, registered pharmacist and technical services manager for Kyowa Hakko USA. “We were happy to see this standardization and we are happy to announce that Setria glutathione meets the new compendia.”
A USP monograph includes the name of the ingredient or preparation; the definition; packaging, storage, and labeling requirements; and the specification. The specification consists of a series of tests, procedures for the tests, and acceptance criteria. These tests and procedures require the use of official USP Reference Standards.
