NutraCast: MegaFood tackles misinformation by leaning into women’s health with MegaWell Collective
New Hampshire-based MegaFood has unveiled its fully-integrated ambassador platform to provide practical, credible advice on health and wellness topics for women.

MegaFood just launched the MegaWell Collective, a new social media-driven thought leadership platform that brings together a diverse group of four respected experts. The company said it carefully curated a collective of four female experts to serve as brand ambassadors, including a Harvard-educated scientist, a board-certified OBGYN, a registered dietitian and nutritionist as well as the founder of a sustainable living website. These women were selected for their strong expertise, credibility and ability to connect with and educate MegaFood's female consumer base. Topics of interest include healthy living, nutrition, and wellness.

"Women in general have been underserved as it relates to both our industry and the mental [wellness] industry overall," said Matt Smith, VP of marketing at MegaFood. "And so we really wanted to key in on helping women in particular, to help navigate fact from fiction and help them navigate to products that are going to meet their unique needs.

"Also I would say for MegaFood, a large majority of our consumers are in fact women. So we're speaking to both our current consumers, but also as we think more broadly, those that haven't yet heard of MegaFood."

The MegaWell Collective was inspired by the growing consumer trend of seeking health information online and MegaFood's desire to better serve its predominantly female customer base with trusted, science-backed guidance.

"Unfortunately, misinformation in the health and wellness space is both inevitable but also increasing and becoming more challenging as more and more people turn to social media, TikTok, etc. for advice and knowledge," Smith said. "And so I would say that Megafood doesn't uniquely struggle with that, any more than the entire industry. And I don't expect it to ever go away. The MegaWell Collective is going to really help set ourselves up as a brand that people can trust, help to foster that transparency and provide that science-backed credentialed advice for consumers for their optimal health and wellness."
