The IPA World Congress + Probiota Americas 2024, hosted by NutraIngredients-USA in association with the International Probiotics Association at the Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City, June 10 to 12, will feature world-leading experts to present the latest scientific, technical, regulatory, business and market insights. 

The three-day conferences takes a magnifying glass to all-things microbiome-related, what areas are growing and in which direction.

Women’s Health & Prebiotics…

Day 1 (June 10) kicks off with the opening session on Microbiome Modulation to Support Women’s Health, with opening presentations by Dr. Emily Prpa, science manager, Yakult UK & Ireland and Prof. Franco Vicariotto, obstetrician gynecologist, Humanitas Hospital and University Milan, Italy.

This is followed by a presentation about the maternal microbiome and infant health by Dr. Gregory Leyer, scientific consultant, Novonesis, and Anne Karina Riise, global commercial industry manager, Novonesis, before NutraIngredients-USA’s Danielle Masterson moderates a wide-ranging panel discussion on the topic that will feature Prof. Vicariotto; Caroline Carralero, founder and CEO of Nouri; Jordi Riera, chief business officer for Kaneka Probiotics; Hongwei Wang, chief technology officer for BioGrowing; and Dr. Jessica Younes, scientific director at IPA.

After a networking break, Dr. Johanna Maukonen, director of global clinical innovation & translation at IFF, will discuss her company’s work with a novel Akkermansia sp. for metabolic health, and then the program will focus on prebiotics for the rest of the day.

Dr. Koen Venema, founder and CEO of the Beneficial Microbes Consultancy, will provide an overview of the prebiotic landscape - structure function relationship. Building on Dr. Venema’s presentation, Prof. Daniela Barile from the University of California Davis will discuss next-gen prebiotics, with insights from glycomics-guided case studies.

Dr. Venema and Prof. Barile will then join a panel discussion on the topic of prebiotics that will also feature Dr. Jason Bush, CEO at Solnul; Dr. Adam Killpartrick, CEO at MAIOME, and Marc Washington, founder and CEO at SuperGut.
