NutraWomen Wednesday: Lisa Chudnofsky, VP of Brand, Content, & Creative at the Vitamin Shoppe

From GTL to TikTok to women’s health, Chudnofsky offers an entertaining glimpse into her life as a woman, mom and content creator.

Lisa Chudnofsky has been a content creator since print magazines and linear television were a thing. She's led digital content strategies and production for major brands and publishers, including Women’s Health, MTV, and Time. Seven years ago she entered the retail industry as VP of Brand, Content, & Creative at the Vitamin Shoppe.

Chudnofsky said she always aspired to be in entertainment and thoroughly enjoyed working at MTV on shows like Jersey Shore.

“I worked on the exclusive online after shows, producing them, writing them. But I also oversaw all of the original content around all of our shows and I loved it. I was there for seven years. I had such a great time. In my last year, I had a baby and it really does change your perspective on a lot of things. It sounds cliche, but you can't really find as much joy in The Situation or Gym, Tan, Laundry anymore when all you're doing is laundry.”

At The Vitamin Shoppe, a big part of Chudnofsky’s day is scrolling through TikTok and other platforms in search of trends in areas such as women's health and wellness. Aside from trendspotting, Chudnofsky makes it a point to help prop up other women.

“I have to say that 20 years ago, I often felt like I wasn't supported by women. And I felt like we were competing against one another because there was limited space at the table, whatever table it was. Twenty years ago, it wasn't a big table and it was more competitive. And over time, as women started talking more together and realizing like, oh gosh, there's really a lot of

strength if we get our heads together and we're not just working in silos,” she said.

“That's what's going to get us ahead. It's what has gotten me ahead, the support of other women. Really, a symbiotic relationship where we amplify each other's voices, we call out each other's wins. So when someone is having a bad day, we take the time to check in with them. That is what makes us all succeed.”
