A Florida-based supplement company has expanded its partnership with a prominent health influencer with the launch of a new berberine product.

The latest product is called Berberine 500 and is marketed under the Avalon X brand, which was founded by social media health influencer Melanie Avalon.

Avalon, a blogger and podcaster, was at one time an actress doing small parts on TV programs. She leveraged her experiences in trying to maintain the svelte physique called for in television work into a thriving online presence in the nutrition influencer world.  The tagline for her website — “paleo — intermittent fasting — wine” — appears to hit all of the latest hot buttons.

Influencer:  Berberine has a place in modern food system

Avalon says the new product will provide an array of health benefits.

“Berberine is a natural plant alkaloid that has been shown in clinical research to help maintain blood sugar and cholesterol levels already in the healthy range, support a healthy GI system and microbiome, as well as provide other health benefits,” she said.

Avalon said a berberine supplement will find a ready audience in today’s world, with the rising tide of lifestyle diseases brought on by the modern food system.

“Today’s modern food choices and consistent access to processed foods have resulted in rising blood sugar levels, which often incite and perpetuate chronic disease,” she said.

“Our partnership with Melanie continues to inspire the creation of remarkable products to her amazing fans, as well as the existing MD Logic community,” said MD Logic COO and Cofounder Scott Emmens.

The new product comes on the heels of  the launch of Magnesium 8 (Broad Spectrum Complex) and Serrapeptase 125. Magnesium is billed to have eight different forms of the mineral, while  Serrapeptase 125, which was the launch product for the MD Logic/AvalonX partnership, is based on a specific enzyme secreted by a bacteria species first isolated from a silkworm.
