AlgaeCal partners with OsteoStrong to promote bone building

AlgaeCal will retail its bone-building supplements in OsteoStrong’s membership-based wellness franchises starting this month. The partnership, which AlgaeCal Founder Dean Neuls says “couldn’t be more perfect”, launches in 10 beta locations across the US.

Not your rock-based calcium

Sourced from South American Lithothamnion superpostium marine algae, Algaecal’s “superfood calcium” sets itself apart from the traditional single-ingredient rock-based calcium. Neuls said that though traditional calcium supplements only slow bone loss, Algaecal is clinically proven to build back bone.

“Our plant-sourced AlgaeCal Plus naturally contains calcium and 12 other nutrients essential for continued bone health, as well as additional vitamins and minerals to ensure bone-density increases,” he explained.

Supporting vitamins and minerals include magnesium, potassium boron, copper, manganese, silicon, strontium, nickel, phosphorus, selenium, vanadium and zinc. AlgaeCal then adds vitamins D3, K2-7 and C, along with additional boron and magnesium to create the "Plus" in AlgaeCal Plus.

AlgaeCal advises that calcium should not be taken alone but requires other vitamins not usually included in traditional calcium supplements: Vitamin D for proper absorption, Vitamin K2 to avoid unwanted side effects like severe aortic calcification, and a calcium to magnesium ratio of 2:1 to minimize digestive issues.

‘The Ultimate Biohack’

OsteoStrong, founded in 2011 by Kyle Zagrodsky with life coach Tony Robbins as business development consultant and investor, has over 150 centers in the US and internationally.

Each franchise offers a series of four robotic musculoskeletal treatment devices that allow for osteogenic loading to promote skeletal growth. Members attend one 10-minute session a week, guided by a personal trainer and supported by trackable biofeedback data – a program that OsteoStrong has trademarked as “The Ultimate Biohack.”

AlgaeCal will roll out at OsteoStrongs in Chagrin Falls (OH), Ridgeland (MS), Colleyville and Dallas (TX), Greeley (CO) and Los Gatos and Santa Barbara (CA), as wells as in Los Angeles’s Mar Vista neighborhood and New York City’s Flatiron District. The OsteoStrong partnership is AlgaeCal’s first venture into retail, and more locations are planned for 2023.
