InsideTracker raises $15 million to ramp up tech, science team
Following a strong growth year, InsideTracker attracted a new round of Series B financing from a group lead by the international food tech investment fund PeakBridge.

InsideTracker, which bills itself as the leading healthspan optimization platform, has raised $15M in Series B funding to drive continued innovation and delivery of its AI platform for personalized nutrition and healthspan optimization. The app analyzes blood and DNA tests, wearables, and demographic information alongside its nutrition, longevity and chronic disease database to make customized lifestyle recommendations.

The round was led by PeakBridge with participation from Cornucopian Capital, BASF VC, and OurCrowd, with participation from Cornucopian Capital and OurCrowd and the continued support of existing investors. The announcement marks the first time InsideTracker’s 3-year relationship with BASF VC has been disclosed.

The latest round of funding follows exponential growth in sales of InsideTracker's precision wellness system for personalized nutrition and healthspan optimization. The healthspan optimizer integrates biomarker data from blood, DNA, activity trackers, and user-generated demographic information to create science-backed recommendations to optimize healthspan.

Technological innovation

Fueled by a proprietary AI engine, InsideTracker combines machine learning and computational biology with more than 60,000 human-hours of meta-analysis and curation from its cross-disciplinary team of scientists and subject matter experts. Ongoing research, development, and calibration of the engine is led by Renee Deehan, PhD​, Vice President of Science and Artificial Intelligence; Gil Blander, PhD, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer; and a team of renowned scientific advisory board members including recent additions Eran Segal, PhD, and Ali Torkamani, PhD.

Key upgrades

“The funds add significant capabilities to our Scientific Advisory Board, addition of a VP of Science & AI and enhancing our data science capabilities, leveling up our content and tech-enabled marketing stack and personnel, addition of a VP of Product to get to better and smoother execution across our product experience…and we are also cooking some very exciting and confidential new personalized nutrition offering,​” Sellam told NutraIngredients-USA.

Sellam added that at the end of the day, InsideTracker is all about helping people live healthier longer. “Your body is a machine; the most valuable and complex machine there is. If you calibrate and fine-tune it, you can get better performance out of it now, and for longer. Our customers’ median age is a bit north of 40 and are interested in using nutrition and lifestyle (including exercise) to fine-tune their machine.”
