The event, which is hosted by NutraIngredients-USA, returns this year as a face to face event. The venue is the Hyatt Regency Resort on San Diego’s beautiful Mission Bay.
The new speakers are Danna Pratte, CEO of Arizona-based supplement brand NB Pure, and Heather Jackson, a professional triathlete who lists Herbalife as one of her sponsors.
25 years of success as CEO
Danna has built NB Pure, first known as Nutritional Brands, into a multi faceted dietary supplement manufacturer.
Over 25 the company has grown into a significant manufacturer, offering supplements for general wellness, digestive health, immune support and more. In that time the brand’s name has gone from Aerobic Life to Nutritional Brands and now landing on NB Pure.
Pratte will bring her perspective to a panel of CEOs. Her fellow panel participants will be Doug Katona of equipment supplier American Barbell, Denis Neville of ingredient supplier CoreFX, and Daniel Lourenco of fast growing sports supplement brand Ghost Nutrition. The panel will delve into the challenges they’ve faced during the pandemic and where they see the market developing next.
Top flight triathlete
Another new speaker added to the even this week is professional triathlete Heather Jackson. Heather is a four time top 5 finisher at the Ironman World Championships and finished on the podium on 2016. She also has a podium finish in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships under her belt.
Heather, who is sponsored by Herbalife, will join three other panelists for a panel on meeting the needs of the female athlete and active nutrition consumer. Joining Heather on the panel will be Dr Susan Kleiner, PhD, a practicing sports nutrition and founding member of the International Society of Sports Nutrition, Dawna Salter Venzon, PhD, principal research scientist for Amway, and Rob Masterson, RD, head of performance nutrition for Michigan State University.
The event will also look at the developing opportunities for hemp/CBD products in sports nutrition. The CBD market finds itself at the cusp of a revolution. There is massive manufacturing capacity ready to feed the flood that will surely come when the regulatory logjam breaks, as it must, sooner or later. Companies that plan now can catch the wave, those that waver will miss it. There are reportedly dozens of hemp/CBD products from major nutrition and wellness players ready to go once the legal pathway becomes clearer.
We’re also emphasizing the esports sphere this year. The esports market is exploding, and Prof. Jason Chung will detail his creation of the world’s first academic esports program that will train the new experts for this field. It’s another ship ready to set sail for sports nutrition companies. Don’t miss it!
