Glanbia and Lonza partner for capsule-in-capsule innovations

Lonza and Glanbia Performance Nutrition have announced a collaboration which sees direct-to-consumer brand Body&Fit expand using Lonza’s DUOCAP technology and ingredients.

Glanbia's sports nutrition and dietary supplements brand Body&Fit is harnessing Lonza’s capsule-in-a-capsule technology to provide a unique delivery format enabling combined dosing of ingredients that may otherwise be incompatible.

The first two new products, Beauty Skin Duo and Pro B Duo, have already been launched. Both products use a titanium dioxide (TiO2) -free inner capsule, catering to the clean label consumer trend.

Next, Body&Fit will launch three additional products for immune health and sleep, mood and anxiety in early 2021, all utilising the DUOCAP technology.

Additionally, Body&Fit is developing a premium joint health and support supplement with the use of Lonza’s TiO2-free hard capsules portfolio as well as its patented UC-II undenatured type II collagen ingredient, which is clinically proven to significantly improve mobility and joint comfort. This will make Body&Fit one of the first online direct-to-consumer brands to provide their consumers with this latest solution for joint health.

The collaboration will also see the exclusive development of an intra-workout product featuring Lonza’s new MuscleGuard formulation - a blend that delivers pre-, intra- and post-workout support.
