Molson Coors has launched a new line of non-alcoholic, sparkling CBD beverages in Colorado: with each beverage offering ‘a unique blend of CBD and adaptogens’.

Launched under Truss CBD USA – a joint venture with HEXO Corp and majority owned by Molson Coors – Veryvell is a hemp-derived, adaptogenic, CBD water with a ‘crisp taste’, zero calories and zero sugar.

Each 12 oz can contains 20mg CBD. The beverages come in three flavors: Focus (Grapefruit Tarragon), Mind & Body (Strawberry Hibiscus) and Unwind (Blueberry Lavender).

“Whether you’ve dabbled in CBD before or are curious to try something new, Veryvell invites a moment of self-care to your day through a refreshing and balanced mix of hemp extracts and natural flavors,” said Jane Armstrong Hockman, Truss CBD USA general manager.

“Each beverage in the product line offers a unique blend of CBD and adaptogens, giving consumers the freedom to pick the combination that best meets them in the moment. We are thrilled to bring our beverage expertise and commitment to quality to this emerging wellness category.”

Veryvell

  • Mind & Body: a blend of strawberry and hibiscus with ashwagandha and elderberry
  • Unwind: a mix of blueberry and lavender with ashwagandha and L-Theanine

Suggested retail price for a 12 oz can of Veryvell is $3.99; and $14.99 for a four-pack.

Best known for beer brands such as Coors Light, Miller Light and Blue Moon, Molson Coors has set out its ambitions to move beyond beer (not least with a company name change from Molson Coors Brewing Company to Molson Coors Beverage Company last year).

Molson Coors started its collaboration with cannabis company Hexo in Canada in 2018: expanding to a new joint venture with Hexo in Colorado last year (Truss CBD USA is distinct from Truss Beverages in Canada).

Colorado was attractive to the beverage giant because of its established regulatory framework for CBD.

Meanwhile, Molson Coors has partnered with The Coca Cola Company to manufacture, market, and distribute Topo Chico Hard Seltzer in the US.

It has also invested in ZENWTR, created by beverage entrepreneur Lance Collins; inked a distribution agreement with La Colombe for its RTD canned coffees, and recently announced a North American distribution partnership with ZOA, a new energy drink being launched by a multi-faceted team of fitness, health and beverage innovators including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

It has also been expanding its presence in seltzers: with a probiotic seltzer and growing line of hard seltzers including Vizzy.
