NutraVideo: Making the leap from pharma to nutra

Global pharmaceutical company Inventia Healthcare recently launched Nutriventia, it’s new nutraceutical brand.

With over 35 years of experience developing and applying various technology platforms in the pharmaceutical space, Vishal Shah, Nutriventia director, explained that focusing on nutraceutical ingredients was a natural progression.

“We realized that our technology platforms are well-suited for many more applications beyond pharmaceuticals, namely in the nutraceutical and food ingredient categories,” said Shah. “Our analysis of the nutraceutical market further confirmed our belief, which led to our focused activity during the past three years to develop nutraceutical and food ingredients.”

With a background in specialized technologies and a focus on scientific research, Shah said Nutriventia will provide differentiated, value-added branded ingredients suitable for a variety of applications, such as tablets, capsules, gummies, gums, beverage powders and more.

The initial portfolio contains nutrients such as vitamin C and the formulations are geared toward issues like energy and gut health  -- all ingredients that are currently in high demand. However,  Shah said the development cycle for nutraceuticals is anywhere from six months to three years.

“It may seem like these were developed for the pandemic, however, we’ve been working on these products for close to three years now,” explained Shah.

“We understand the science, go-to-market strategy and communications process, as well as the customer base, is quite different from pharma, so we created a separate identity within Inventia. Nutriventia is focused on nutrition by bringing nature and science together for the benefit of both the customer and consumer.”
