In light of the ongoing uncertainty around the COVID-19 public health crisis, the IPA World Congress + Probiota Americas 2020 has been canceled, but will return June 16-18, 2021 in Washington, D.C.

After extensive discussions between William Reed, the publishers of NutraIngredients-USA and hosts of Probiota America, and the International Probiotics Association, its board and members, we decided that the best decision for our community is to wait until 2021 before we can reunite in person.

Our teams will be proactively and rapidly reaching out to all of the delegates, sponsors, and speakers on next steps and future plans.

We were excited to bring the event to Washington, D.C., and have already confirmed the 2021 event will take place in the US capital next year, June 16-18, 2021 at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel.

NutraIngredients-USA is working to create valuable content and digital offerings to help fill the void left by November’s cancellation.

“Our top priority has always been to provide the best event for the Probiota Americas community, and that means doing what’s right for everyone’s health and safety,” said Stephen Daniells, PhD, Editor-in-Chief of NutraIngredients-USA and Editorial Consultant for Probiota Americas. “Following a consultation with our partners at the IPA, we believe that this cancellation is the right thing to do, and it was important for us to take this decision early.

“I’m excited by the content we’re working on for November to keep us connected with our community, and to introduce our unique event to new people across the Americas.”

George Paraskevakos, IPA’s Executive Director, commented: “Given the ongoing challenges associated with COVID, this is an important decision for the health and safety of the probiotics and prebiotics community. The IPA World Congress + Probiota Americas is a key fixture in the annual calendar, and we look forward to reconnecting with our friends and probiotics family in 2021.

“Until then, IPA will continue to be the Global Voice of Probiotics® during these challenging times and wish our members and industry friend’s good health.”
