Wan discussed how he ended up in the dietary supplement industry and the challenges that came with creating a consumer brand at a young age.
“I think it was just a fortune of some of my experiences that I was exposed to entrepreneurship and eventually developed this opportunity that let me focus and develop motivation around something that was, in my opinion, longer term, and more relevant to what I wanted to be doing in a time span of say 30-40 years, rather than the next 2 or 3 years of my life.”
Wan noted the importance of science-backed ingredients and working with athletes and experts in the industry.
“We started with our authentic connection to professional sport. Meaning our formulas were actually developed by performance experts meaning strength coaches and dietician from each of the four major leagues, So MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL and the NCAA...basically all the people who aren’t playing sports right now.”
One of the main ingredients Momentous uses in their sleep supplement has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Wan explained how incorporating the Jujube seed came about and what it has been like to explore cross categories.
Momentous has a big year ahead, with more products slated to launch. “We’re always working on new products,” Wan said. Expect to see a creatine formula, followed by a collagen formula and a couple more surprises from Momentous.
