This time of year tends to get a plethora of product launches as brands time their announcements around the Natural Products Expo West show. This year we saw plenty of CBD, beauty-positioning, and as always, protein. Here’s a short list of product launches that captures today’s industry trends:

Birthday Cake Signature Whey Protein and Crunch Bars by Bodybuilding.com

To celebrate its 20 years in business, Bodybuilding.com expanded its line of private label products, by adding a birthday cake flavor to two lines. The birthday cake whey protein has natural and artificial flavors, serving 25 g of whey protein per scoop.

The Signature Protein Crunch Bars have 20 g protein from whey protein isolate and concentrate, and 5 g of sugar per bar.

Skin Heroes Pre- and Probiotic by HUM Nutrition

Formulated with nine strains of probiotics and konjac root fiber as a prebiotic, these new vegan capsules by HUM Nutrition are positioned for skin health.

“HUM Nutrition scientists have identified a proprietary combination of prebiotics and nine different probiotic strains that support the gut and promote clear, even and smooth skin,” according to the company.

Protein Cookie by MusclePharm

MusclePharm is expanding its product portfolio with ready-to-eat offerings. First up is a line of protein cookies, with 16 g of protein derived from whey protein isolate and whey protein concentrate per cookie.

The line will debut with three flavors: Triple Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Birthday Cake. “We feel this cookie is unique versus the other protein cookies in the market because of the unique baking process, which provides an unparalleled softer texture,” said director of product management Tyler McCann.

Lion’s Mane Plus by Oregon’s Wild Harvest

Riding on the wave of brain health’s popularity, Oregon’s Wild Harvest launched Lion’s Mane Plus. It is marketed for memory retention, mental clarity, concentration, and focus.

The supplement also contains ginkgo leaf powdered extract and vitamins, such as “organic vitamin D derived from mushrooms exposed to UV light,” according to the company.

Complete Plant Collagen Builder by PlantFusion

Launched at the Natural Products Expo West show, PlantFusion’s Complete Plant Collagen Builder contains phytoceramides, amla extract, white tea extract, and a blend of plant-based proteins from quinoa, algae, and pea.

It was formulated to maintain the body’s natural collagen production.

Coromega Max CBD

Oils and fats specialist Coromega forayed into the hottest category of the industry with the launch of its Coromega Max CBD.

It comes in a squeezable oil shot format, with each shot containing broad spectrum industrial hemp oil and medium-chain triglycerides.
