June new product launches: Summer is ‘shot’ season
From liquid supplement shots to a subscription kit of cognitive health supplements, here are nine new finished product launches from the last few weeks.

5-Hour Energy Tea Shots by Living Essentials

The makers of 5-Hour Energy shots announced a new product, aptly named 5-Hour Teas Shots, highlighting its 200mg caffeine content sourced from green tea, which is the main (and only) differentiator from the ‘original’ formula. For now, there is only one flavor in the line, the summer-staple peach tea flavor.

2. One Basix Protein Bars by ONE Brands

Part of the story of One’s brand name is that the bars contain one gram of sugar. The company’s new One Basix Protein Bars are positioned to be “a simplified take on traditional One Bars,” according to a press release. The new Basix line is free of gluten, sugar alcohols, and sucralose. For context, the original chocolate chip cookie dough bar has 6g of sugar alcohol compared to Basix’ 0g. To sweeten, the Basix line uses stevia.

Reliv Now with Whey

3. Reliv Now with Whey by Reliv

Missouri-based multi-level marketing company Reliv announced a new product called Reliv Now with Whey late last month. The powder supplement contains vitamins, minerals, and “super-powered antioxidants,” which is the French maritime pine bark extract Pycnogenol by Horphag Research. Each serving contains 7 g of whey protein.

4. Cognitive health supplement kit by Liveli

We profiled the story behind this new subscription-based, cognitive health supplement start-up earlier this month, which you can read here. In sum, a complete Liveli kit contains single-serve packets of supplements formulated to focus, sleep better, and maintain the brain’s overall health. Two Stanford-educated physicians (an anesthesiologist and dermatologist) founded Liveli, backed by entrepreneur James Brennan of Enlightened Brand Ventures and angel investor Kim Perell.

5. The Best Stuff by Juice Shots

The second shot product in this month’s round-up is The Best Stuff by Juice Shots. It contains a proprietary blend marketed to ‘combat stress,’ according to the company. This includes maca, moringa, Rhodiola rosea, Echinacea, elderberry, guarana, and L-Carnitine.

6. Protein Almonds by Optimum Nutrition

Expanding its presence beyond the specialty, sports nutrition channel, sports nutrition company Optimum Nutrition is penetrating the convenience channel even more with a new product line of protein-coated almonds called, erm, Protein Almonds. According to the company, Protein Almonds contain two times the protein of regular coated almonds. They come in single-serving sleeves in three flavors: Dark Chocolate Truffle, Cinnamon Roll, and Chocolate Jalapeno. Each pack is around 190 to 220 calories.

7. PureResponse by Pure Encapsulations

Four products comprise the new PureReponse line by Atrium Innovations’ Pure Encapsulation: Balanced Immune, Innate Immune Support, Th1 Support, and Th2 Modulator. Products of the line are sold through the healthcare practitioner channel.

8. Ocuvite Blue Light Eye Vitamins by Bausch + Lomb

Infused with the carotenoid pigments lutein and zeaxanthin, Ocuvite Blue Light Eye Vitamins by Basusch + Lomb are marketed to help protect eyes from the blue light that reaches the macula. "With the increasing number of hours Americans are spending on digital devices, there is a growing need for a product that helps our eyes filter the blue light that is emitted from these devices," said Joseph Gordon, president, Consumer Healthcare and Vision Care, Bausch + Lomb. "Ocuvite Blue Light is specifically formulated to meet this need and help consumers maintain their eye health in our screen-centric world."
