HP Ingredients launches new cognitive health ingredient

HP Ingredients, a Florida headquartered ingredient manufacturer, launched a new ingredient targeting cognitive health made out of Polygonum minus extract.

The ingredient is sold under the name Quantum IQ, and is standardized to 0.5% quercetin 3-glucoronide, 0.25% quercitrin, and 15% phenols.

“Adults today experience higher stress levels from more active lifestyles and increased responsibilities, which often decrease cognitive abilities and dulls memory capability,” said Annie Eng, CEO of HP Ingredients.

“Adding Quantum IQ can allow for better cognition and memory, especially during times when stress disrupts healthy, strong immune function.”

Polygonum minus, also known as kesum, small smartweed, or spotted lady’s thumb, is an herb used in Southeast Asian cooking.

Quantum IQ has been protected by US Patent #20150320821 for cognition and cosmetic use since last month. It was filed in 2013 by Biotropics Malaysia Berhad.
