The morning educational event, which will take place on Thursday, November 2 (9-11:30 am) at the Hilton Rosemont/Chicago O’Hare, will feature presentations about the factory-direct ingredientsonline.com e-commerce platform and issues affecting the global vitamin C supply.
For almost a year now, the world has experienced a Vitamin C shortage and watched prices rise, in some cases, three and four times from the prices held in the fall of 2016. Almost all of the world’s supply of Vitamin C is produced in China and the Chinese government has been consistently shutting down factories or limiting their output because of environmental concerns. As more and more factories decrease production, the supply for Vitamin C will become confined to only a few suppliers.
Attendees will hear from Anhui Tiger Biotech, a BBFY factory, which is opening a new state-of-the-art Vitamin C manufacturing facility in Anhui, China, with production will begin in Q4, 2017. The annual production capacity will be 40,000 metric tons, which will make a significant impact on the global ascorbic acid market.
Dr Stephen Daniells, NutraIngredients-USA’s Editor-in-Chief, will also provide an update on the current State of the Industry. Stephen will provide insights on the regulatory environment and what’s trending in DC. He will also share details on 2017’s economic performance, trending ingredients, growth opportunities, as well as industry issues and concerns as we move into 2018.
