The deadline for entries to this year’s global NutraIngredients Awards is 3 February. With 13 categories tackling everything from heart healthy ingredients to service providers, personalised nutrition initiatives, start-ups, and our much acclaimed Readers Ingredient of the Year and Readers Food Supplement of the Year awards, there is something for everyone.
And it’s not too late to get your application started! You can even find some important hints and tips on what our independent panel of top industry judges are looking for by checking out our recent interview with veteran judges Jens Bleiel and Ewa Hudson.
“We’re looking for innovative products, so if there’s an ingredient that is different, or provides a benefit that’s not commonly available or hasn’t been researched before, that’s very interesting,” said Hudson, head of health and wellness, ethical labels and nutrition research at Euromonitor International.
Bleiel, CEO at University College Dublin-based, business-focused dairy innovation incubator, Food Health Ireland (FHI), said he was looking for three things: “Real innovation, impact, and defined target market.”
Expanded categories, simplified criteria
Last year the NutraIngredients Awards received more than 130 entries across our categories, and with an expanded selection of awards for 2017 competition will be tight.
“We’ve added some ingredient-based categories and revamped entry criteria across-the-board to better target true nutrition innovation – wherever it may come from,” said NutraIngredients senior editor Shane Starling.
'We’re looking for solid science, facts, numbers – if there are scientific studies, what are the results?
NutraIngredients-USA Senior Editor, Stephen Daniells, PhD, added: “We want to make sure that the innovative work being undertaken in North America - and across the Americas - is truly represented in our global awards.
“This is the chance for manufacturers and suppliers in the region to receive global attention, and gain the recognition they deserve for the products and work that improves people’s lives, and optimizes health and performance."
