Jim Hyde elected chair of CRN’s Board of Directors

Jim Hyde, vice president and general manager at Balchem Human Nutrition and Pharma, has been elected chair of the Council for Responsible Nutrition’s Board of Directors, and will hold the chairman post through 2018, succeeding Harvey Kamil, vice chairman of The Nature’s Bounty Company.

Hyde has 20 years of experience in the dietary supplement industry. He served as the CEO of Albion Laboratories, Inc. for 16 years until Albion was acquired by Balchem Corporation in February 2016, at which point he assumed his current position with Balchem.

“Through the consistent efforts of exceptional staff, Board of Directors and member companies, CRN is the leading dietary supplement trade association and a strong advocate for legitimate science and transparency in the human nutrition market. CRN's well-earned respect by the industry and its regulatory bodies allows us to make a significant impact on the quality and safety of dietary supplement products available to the consumer. I am proud to be associated with this effort as CRN continues to build momentum in the coming years," said Hyde in a statement.

Kamil will continue to serve on the Board as immediate past chair.
