AstaPure available in Mexico for the first time

Astaxanthin supplier Algatechnologies has established a new distribution arrangement with NaturaExtracta that enables its AstaPure ingredient to be sold in Mexico for the first time.

AstaPure astaxanthin is produced by Algatechnologies in Israel from Haematococcus pluvialis microalgae. It offers benefits in a range of areas, including cardiovascular, cognitive, eye and skin health, as well as muscle and joint function, immunity, and sports nutrition.

In addition to dietary supplements, the collaboration with NaturaExtracta, a subsidiary of the Arancia Group, means AstaPure will also be available to companies in Mexico’s beauty and personal care market

“Mexican consumers have become more health conscious, more inclined to buy dietary supplements and more likely to have a higher disposable income than before,” said Gary Brenner, Business & Sales Development Manager at Algatechnologies. “We’re very pleased to be teaming up with NaturaExtracta to tap into their extensive knowledge and experience of this important market.”

According to Euromonitor, sales of dietary supplements in Mexico will increase by 4% a year (CAGR) between now and 2020 to reach a value of US$1.25 billion. Additional data from Mintel shows that 41% of all new dietary supplements launched in Mexico in the past year have a natural antioxidant positioning.

“Our new strategic alliance with Algatechnologies is great news for the Mexican market,” said Gillermo Limón, Managing Director of NaturaExtracta, “Dietary supplement and personal care businesses here will at last have easy access to the potent antioxidant power of AstaPure ingredient solutions – enabling them to formulate their products with this high quality astaxanthin and create a distinct point of difference for their brands.”
