Matt is a senior discovery scientist and the global lead for Abbott’s partnership with the Center for Nutrition Learning and Memory (CNLM) at the University of Illinois. He drives scientific discovery and research on the impact of nutrition on cognition and memory. He manages a global team of cognition scientists and professors who are studying various nutrients, nutritional compounds and their benefits.
The gut brain axis: How do probiotics and prebiotics affect cognitive function and behavior? Dr Paul Forsythe, Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator at the McMaster Brain-Body Institute, McMaster University
Dr Forsythe has a strong interest in neural regulation of immunity, which he pursued during his PhD at Queen’s University Belfast and Post-Doctoral studies at the University of Alberta. His current research explores the neuro-immuno-endocrine super-system in the context of the holobiont, with a particular focus on identifying mechanisms underlying the influence of gut microbes, and their products, on the development and progression of diverse pathophysiological responses such as allergy, inflammation and mood disorders.

Dr Minton has over a decade of experience as a biology professor, and has worked as a clinical and laboratory researcher, and in recent years, as a nutrition consultant. Dr Minton earned both a master’s degree and PhD in Resource Ecology from the University of Michigan, and was a tenured Associate Professor in the Biological Sciences at Vanguard University.

Dr Bazinet completed his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Stephen Cunnane at the University of Toronto in 2003, and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Stanley Rapoport’s Brain Physiology and Metabolism Section at the National Institute on Aging, National Institutes of Health.
Dr Bazinet joined the University of Toronto in 2006, where he is currently an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair in Brain Lipid Metabolism.
