The Platinum Liability Insurance Program was launched officially last month. Over the past year RT has worked with UNPA to identify and quantify all of the underwriting quirks of the industry. The result is said to be a program that offers higher levels of coverage than had previously been available, up to $20 million.
In the underwriting process the program will look at a company’s compliance with GMP rules, the management of its supply chain and how it monitors its products in the marketplace. The insurance program does a better job of covering the risks dietary supplement companies incur while still keeping the costs reasonable, said UNPA.
“After applying to the Platinum Program, Genysis has highly anticipated its launch not only for the benefit it will bring to our company and clients, but for the high standard it holds the industry to as a whole,” said Jeff Reynolds, CEO of Genysis.
“As we’ve strived to achieve a standard of excellence as an organization regarding quality and innovation, we’re thrilled to be part of a program that will be available to other health and wellness companies with like-minded goals.”

New executive member
UNPA also announced its newest executive-level member: Salt Lake City-based ASEA.
ASEA is an emerging player in cellular health, and is dedicated to providing a sustainable lifestyle by delivering high-quality cellular health products through a principle-based, direct-selling distribution model.
“At ASEA, we recognize the vital role that UNPA plays in both advancing awareness and protecting access to high-quality natural products around the world,” said ASEA Corporate Counsel Ben Tyler. “This is important to us as a company that is committed to building our business for the long term. We hope to work with UNPA and its members to continue to promote excellence in our industry and to ensure continued access to reliable and effective natural products.”
“We are very happy to welcome ASEA, an innovative Utah-based company, as an Executive Member,” said UNPA President Loren Israelsen. “The veteran executive management team brings many years of experience and a strong commitment to support the many programs at UNPA. The dietary supplement industry—like never before—needs companies such as ASEA to strengthen our ability to advance safety, science and quality.”
