Industry unites to honor Senator Hatch at DSHEA 20th anniversary event

Senator Orrin Hatch will be the guest of honor at special event to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the landmark Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act (DSHEA) in Salt Lake City on October 23, 2014.

“In his role as the lead author and the leading proponent of DSHEA, Sen. Hatch paved a pathway for the modern dietary supplement industry, which has grown from around $2 billion in sales in 1994 to more than $35 billion this year,” said Loren Israelsen, president of the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA), which is hosting the tribute luncheon.

“The industry and its leadership are joining together to honor his dedication to the health and wellbeing of all Americans and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this landmark legislation.” 

Senator Hatch’s continued leadership in the Senate on behalf of dietary supplements is widely recognized as vital to the industry’s continued growth and success, adding thousands of jobs and billions of dollars to the economy of Utah and beyond.

The celebration will be held at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City from 12-2pm on October 23, 2014. Registration is $25 per person and can be found HERE. The luncheon will be followed by a one-hour program during which Senator Hatch will address attendees.
