Hosoda Nutritional and B&D Nutritional Ingredients bring Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol to the US

B&D Nutritional Ingredients has been named the exclusive marketer and seller of Hosada Nutritional’s Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol for the US market.

Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol is a natural resveratrol extracted from the seeds of the melinjo, Gnetum gnemon, which is a small tree is native to Southeast Asia, and melinjo is the common Indonesian name for the plant. Hosoda Nutritional is the only company supplying Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol to the Japanese and global supplement markets.

“This is a new beginning for our business and an important moment in Hosoda’s history,” said Shinya Hosoda, CEO of Hosoda Nutritional. “It represents the culmination of our transformation to the U.S., during which we responsibly sourced, secured, manufactured and grew the Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol market in Japan and now have carefully selected B&D for our next wave of growth.”

Hosoda claimed that the ingredient has been studied for more than 10 years, mainly by Japanese universities, and the data indicates that the efficacy of Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol is at minimum 2.6 times higher than standard trans-resveratrol. There are a comprehensive number of clinical studies supporting the health benefits of Melinjo Dimers, said the company, including longer life expectancy with increased stamina, lowering blood sugar level and reducing visceral fat.

Hosoda Nutritional is working to get self-affirmed GRAS in the US, said the company, and it expects to finalize that this year. The Melinjo Dimer Resveratrol is covered by US patent number US8067036 B2.
