Vik said these latest developments will help reinvigorate interest in the ingredient, interest which had lagged as a result of some strategic errors on NattoPharma's part concerning the supply of the ingredient. "We were on a good track when you go back to 2010 to sell in the ingredient in the US," Vik said. "Then we made some mistakes. Now we have established a unit in New York and we are very optimistic to move forward with big players in the ingredient market."
