Heat-stable GanedenBC30 is consumed in a variety of foods and beverages, such as breads, chocolate and hot drinks. It has a naturally occurring layer of organic material that protects the genetic core of the bacteria to allow the probiotic to survive extreme the temperatures involved in food and beverage manufacturing processes.
The company claims that only traditional probiotics, which are usually consumed in capsule form or as an ingredient in refrigerated products like yoghurt, are available in the region.
“This new partnership with Ganeden is significant for Connell Brothers because we can offer our customers this cutting-edge probiotic that has not been available to them before,” said Peter Kam, regional food director for Connell Brothers.
