CRN launches Life…supplemented mobile app: Vitamin Angels set to benefit from proceeds

The Council for Responsible Nutrition has launched a mobile app for its 'Life…supplemented' campaign, with proceeds being donated to international charity Vitamin Angels.

The initiative marks the third consecutive year that “Life…supplemented” has partnered with Vitamin Angels and will bring this year’s donation to $45,000 - CRN will donate $1.00 (up to $13,500) from proceeds from the app, WannaBeWell, to the charitable organization.

“In the US and 40 countries around the world, we've seen the incredible impact vitamins can have on children; giving them a chance to lead meaningful and productive lives. We are honored to be working with ‘Life...supplemented’,” said Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels.

App

The app complements the Lifesupplemented.org website and is designed to “educate, activate and motivate consumers to get and stay well”.

It provides information and tools designed to encourage consumers to determine ways to customize their wellness regimens to meet personal goals.

Judy Blatman, vice president, communications at CRN, said: “We wanted to meet consumers where they are… and provide them with tools that they can have at their fingertips 24:7.”

The app boasts “easy usability and customizable functionality” and is designed to be fun as well as educational with gaming elements and a ‘personal wellness coach’ plus opportunities to earn trophies and rewards.

It is designed for the iPhone but also works on the iPad and iPad Touch.

The app provides blogs, information on health conditions (anxiety, anemia, brittle nails etc) and which supplements might be relevant for helping you deal with these conditions, a library of supplements, a wellness scorecard/quiz where you can answer questions on your diet and lifestyle and get a score and advice on how to improve your score.
