NPA president Jeff Wright said the process of finding a replacement had already begun and that he was confident of securing an “outstanding leader who can help us tackle the challenges we face as an industry and build on our successes”.
Membership on the rise
In the meantime, a leadership team that includes Wright, Daron Watts, partner at Sidley Austin LLP, and other industry veterans will lead operations and oversee NPA’s advocacy outreach and industry self-regulatory programs, he said.
“We wish John well and know he will succeed in his next endeavors.
“The association is in a sound position with membership on the rise. We have healthy reserves and revenue has grown the past several years.
“As the nation’s oldest and largest association dedicated to the natural products industry, I’m pleased that NPA continues to enjoy the utmost respect and effectiveness in Washington, D.C. We also have a dedicated and talented staff. NPA has been a leader on critical issues for our industry and will continue to be a leader as we move forward.”
The NPA has more than 1,900 members accounting for more than 10,000 locations of retailers, manufacturers, wholesalers and distributors of natural products, including foods, dietary supplements, and health/beauty aids.
