NSF International and HFL Sport Science will monitor EAS’ manufacturing process and test its products for banned substances as part of the EAS certification program.
“Until now, athletes and fitness enthusiasts did not have a reliable and objective standard to determine product quality. Today, EAS is setting a new standard to raise the bar and provide athletes, fitness coaches, personal trainers and parents products they can trust to be safe and high quality” said Keith Wheeler, global director, performance nutrition research, development and scientific affair at Abbott, the maker of EAS.
The FDA has identified over 300 illegal products branded as dietary supplements, said the company. In this effort to tackle prohibited substances, EAS will mark its products with a certified “tested and true” seal.
The seal will ensure that consumers purchase safe and trusted products with banned- free drugs that comply with the FDA standards as well as the World Anti- Doping Agency.
