Farbest forms strategic partnership for soy protein isolates

Farbest Brands has formed a strategic partnership with China’s Gushen Biological Technology Group to exclusively market Gushen’s line of quality non-GMO soy isolate products in the United States.

The partnership sees Farbest leverage its national sales and distribution network to market these products to the U.S. food and beverage industry.

New Jersey-based Farbest is set to introduce a complete range of Gushen soy isolates for virtually every food and beverage application, said the company.

"Farbest is proud to partner with Gushen to bring the highest quality soy products to our customers," said Dan Meloro, president of Farbest Brands. "In a market where companies are increasingly concerned about rising commodity prices, Gushen soy protein isolates from Farbest provide exceptional value along with health benefits and formulation flexibility."

All production processes in Gushen’s state-of-the-art production facility in Shandong Province, China, from oil extraction to isolate production, are monitored according to certified HACCP, ISO 22000-2005, and ISO 9001-2000 standards. Strict quality control is maintained from farm to processing plant, said the company, ensuring the raw materials are pure and unadulterated.

Dale Bertrand, Farbest Brands, told NutraIngredients-USA.com that the soy protein isolates compliment the company’s existing portfolio in that it adds another dimension to our offerings into the health & wellness arena.

“Along with our complete line of vitamins and carotenoids, Farbest currently offers specialty milk proteins, caseinates and whey protein concentrates to manufacturers of everything from nutrition bars to protein drinks,” said Bertrand.

“The Soy Protein Isolate from Gushen allows our customers to choose which protein best suits their needs, whether their concerns be about amino acid content, allergens or genetic modification. Often times our customers will even use a combination of proteins to achieve their goals.”

According to the Midwest Shippers Association, the soy protein market for the USA is currently at 688,000 metric tons annually (soy protein products such as soy flour, concentrates, isolates, and textured soy protein).
