The event, hosted by the National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR) within the School of Pharmacy at the University of Mississippi and takes place April 11-14, 2011, and will address issues including authentication of botanical identity, cultivation, collection, and post-harvest practices for producing quality plant materials.
The event will also explore chemical and toxicological methods regarding botanical quality/safety assessments, as well as the various international regulatory approaches for adverse event reporting (AER) for botanical products.
The conference is co-sponsored by CFSAN/FDA, the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica/CAS (China), The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR - India), the American Society of Pharmacognosy (ASP), the Society for Medicinal Plant Research (USA), the Ministry of Indigenous Medicine, (Sri Lanka), and the Korean Society of Pharmacognosy.
