The Certified Bioavailable Antioxidants Program from NIS Labs tested EpiCor via its CAP-e assay (Cell-based Antioxidnat Protection in Erthrocytes), which evaluates the antioxidant potential of products.
"While many natural products contain antioxidant properties, this CAP- e certification gives manufacturers the assurance that EpiCor's antioxidant properties are actually benefitting people, as a series of studies found them to enter into and protect live cells," explained Larry Robinson, PhD, vice president of scientific affairs at Embria.
EpiCor is a yeast fermentate and a natural high-metabolite immunogen reported to have the antioxidant (ORAC) potency three times that of any known fruit. It is said to cause a four-fold increase in the activity of the 'natural killer' cells that guard the immune system.
