UNPA to hold mock FDA inspection workshop

The supplement trade group United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) will hold a mock FDA GMP inspection seminar, which will provide guidance on what companies should do if agency inspectors visit their facilities.

To be held on February 5 in Salt Lake City, UT, the meeting will allow attendees to role play all aspects of an FDA inspection.

Topics to be covered include: What a receptionist should say and do on the arrival of an inspector; who should be in charge of the inspection; what to do if everyone is out of town; what records FDA is entitled to; how to say ‘no’ politely; whether the inspector may speak to employees, take photographs and review complaint files; how to conduct an exit interview; and how to move forward if there is trouble.

The GMP seminar is priced at $495 for members of UNPA and $695 for non-members. Special registration fees apply for multiple attendees from the same company.

Update: This article was modified on January 20, 2009. UNPA announced the seminar has been postponed until late spring.
