According to organizer Virgo Publishing, the 10th edition of SupplySide West is set to be the biggest in the event's history with more than 850 booths (20 percent more than in 2005).
The East coast version, said to be the biggest ever, took place in Secaucus, New Jersey, in May and drew 3,600 industry executives.
But last year's SuppleSide West attracted a total of 6,151 industry executives to Las Vegas - and pre-registration has been said to be four-times higher than last year.
No wonder, then, that many healthy ingredients suppliers use it as a platform to launch their latest developments to the trade.
Amongst those who have spent recent weeks raising awareness of the new products they will be showcasing are: ADM, highlighting Novatol, a natural source vitamin E; Bio Serae, launching fruit-based performance ingredient Frutologic, seaweed extract ID-alG, the NutraVeggie phytonutrient range, and fiber ingredient NeOpuntia; Nutragenesis, launching whole food mushroom powder ingredients, MycoFusions; Kyowa Hakko, presenting proprietary antioxidant ingredient Setria Glutathione.
Bioriginal, introducing omega-3 fish oil ingredient, BioPureDHA; The Solae Company, launching its new isolated soy protein for nutrition bars Supra 430.
The event starts on Wednesday, but the first day is given over to conferences and educational sessions, including a session on the importance of clinical trials - and this year the program has been expanded to make way for 10 additional sessions.
The conference sessions continue through Friday, running concurrently with sponsored VendorWorks seminars and the main trade show at the Venetian and Sands Expo.
The state-of-the-industry address, chaired by Marc Ullman, will take place in two parts of Friday.
This year's keynote speaker is football hero and ESPN's Monday Night Football analyst Joe Theismann.
The trade show floor opens at 11am this Thursday, and closes at 5pm on Friday.
NutraIngredients-USA.com will be reporting from the show.
Our reporter and salespeople will be walking the floor, and can be contacted at booth 9618.
