New research shows immune boosting effect of maitake product

The proprietary mushroom extract MaitakeGold 404 is a highly active
immunomodulator even in very low doses, reports its US-based
marketer The Tradeworks Group, following new tests on the product.

The in vivo research, carried out by immunology specialist Dr Vaclav Vetvicka, found that it stimulated the immune system mainly through its action on cellular immunity. The tests showed high activity both in phagocytosis and in stimulation of cytokine release, specifically Interleukin 1, Interleukin 2 and TNF alpha, as well as in natural killer cell (NK cell) stimulation.

Phagocytosis is a critical component of the body's first line of defense in immunity and the research suggests that the supplement could help boost daily immune defense.

MaitakeGold 404 is an extract of the maitake mushroom, processed and patented by Dr Hiroaki Nanba, a Japanese immunologist and expert on the Maitake mushroom. The concentrated extract contains a bioactive protein-glucan complex thought to stimulate the body's immune system.

It is available as bulk powder or liquid extract in numerous concentrations for either daily immune maintenance or immunotherapeutic applications.
