Canada's National Herb and Spice Coalition (NHSC) is holding its first annual conference to address issues affecting the industry's future.
The meeting will target producers, processors, regulators, researchers buyers and companies who work within the herb, spice and natural health products industry, presenting networking opportunities for the main players.
Conference topics include the new Canadian health product regulations, meeting the US and European organic standards, spices as functional foods, herbal medicine and essential oils, and good agriculture practices.
The event takes place at the University of Guelph in Ontario from February 18-19, 2004. More information is available from the society's website.
NHSC leads the Canadian On Farm Safety program for the herb and spice industry and is a member of the Industry Liaison Committee with the Natural Health Products Directorate.
