Mannatech feeds antioxidant demand

Supplement maker Mannatech is launching a new antioxidant product, said to be more potent than other products, owing to its patent-pending blend of water- and fat-soluble antioxidants.

Texas-based Mannatech is launching a new antioxidant product, said to be more potent than other products, owing to its 'synergistic' blend of water- and fat-soluble antioxidants.

Ambrotose AO, part of the firm's Optimal Health range, contains the Ambrotose complex, a proprietary technology that combines water and fat-soluble antioxidants together, and designed to protect the entire cell.

It also includes the MTech AO Blend, which Mannatech boasts far outdistanced 90 different antioxidant products and tested three times more powerful than the next leading competitive product in laboratory tests.

The finished product is said to help counter the harmful effects of toxins, other environmental sources of stress, daily physical stress and poor diet. It will also help consumers meet antioxidant intake not achieved through daily fruit and vegetable consumption.

"The 'synergy' is a key piece of what sets Ambrotose AO apart from all the rest," said Mannatech chairman and CEO Sam Caster. "In Ambrotose AO, we have combined the benefits of our newly discovered antioxidant blend with our patent pending flagship technology, Ambrotose complex."

Mannatech has also filed a patent for the test method that measures the synergistic potential of water and fat-soluble antioxidant combinations. This ORACo test method will become the new 'gold standard' of measurement for antioxidant activity, claims the firm.

Initial clinical studies with Ambrotose AO resulted in an increase in the plasma antioxidant capacity of at least 26 per cent, claims the firm, which also sells its products in Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan and New Zealand.
