Herbal tea and extract maker Wisdom Herbs will change its name to to Wisdom Natural Brands to reflect its growing product diversity, it has announced.

The Arizona-based firm, which started out making Wisdom of the Ancients herbal teas, is now behind the SweetLeaf brand stevia products, Wisdom Nutrition supplement line and Sweet & Slender natural sweetener. It also distributes La Merced brand yerba maté.

"The new name makes a lot of sense for us," said Steve May, COO of the company. "As our business expands and we develop a higher industry profile, we recognize the need to choose a name that better reflects who we are and where our business is going."

The new name, effective from 1 September 2003, will be introduced at the Natural Products Expo East trade show in Washington, D.C., (4-7 September 2003), with the help of a new island booth. Wisdom Natural Brands will also host afternoon 'birthday' celebrations from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at their booth (#3359) at Expo East on Friday, 5 September and Saturday, 6 September 2003.
