Taste, texture, and stability in confectionery fillings can all be achieved with a new range of filling fats from Loders Croklaan, the Dutch-based company recently spun-off by Anglo-Dutch giant Unilever.
The supplier of speciality oils and fats - sold off at the end of last year to Malaysia's IOI Corporation Berhad group - said that it is currently rolling out three different groups of filling fats for the new range to its customers.
Firstly CREAMELT, positioned as a premium filling fats group that 'gives confectionery the highest-quality eating characteristics possible'. Secondly, the BISCUITINE group, developed to offer manufacturers 'great quality and eating characteristics together with maximum flexibility and economy in production.'
And finally CLSP, the lauric based filling fats group that 'provides an outstandingly cool and clean melt, while allowing easy processing, including fast and simple crystallisation.'
The company will be exhibiting the range at the upcoming European food ingredients exhibition - Fi Europe 2003 - taking place in Frankfurt, Germany in November.
Anglo-Dutch consumer products group Unilever has completed the sale of its Dutch-based edible oils unit Loders Croklaan to Malaysia's IOI Corporation Berhad group. In May this year Unilever announced that it wanted to divest Loders as part of its 'Path to Growth' strategy - a drive to focus on core activities and to boost sales growth.
