Nautilus launches silver-enhanced water

Nautilus Mineral Waters of America has introduced a bottled water with added colloidal silver for tourists to protect against traveler's diarrhea.

Nautilus Mineral Waters of America has introduced a beverage for tourists to help ward off traveler's diarrhea.

Nautilus' Mile High Natural Spring Water contains colloidal silver to fight bacteria in water. The product is said to be 'ozonated' (sterilised) and is packaged in different sized PET bottles.

"Even the bottled water onboard foreign airlines can be suspect, one should always err on the side of caution when traveling abroad. The use of silver as a bacteriostatic agent in an ozonated bottled water, can be an effective prophylactic if you forget and brush your teeth with airline tap water, a quick oral rinse should do the trick," said Jeff Weiss, president and CEO of Nautilus Mineral Waters of America.

The company cites World Health Organization recommendations that silver salts can be used to maintain thebacteriological quality of drinking-water in levels of up to 0.1 mg/liter without risk to health.

Nautilus Mineral Waters develops its products in-house and they are bottled at different locations in the UnitedStates, Canada and Europe.
