Roche to distribute Lonza niacin

Roche Vitamins is to distribute Lonza's niacin for use in fortified foods within the United States, under a new agreement between the Swiss companies.

Roche Vitamins has announced an agreement with Swiss group Lonza that will see Roche distributing Lonza's niacin within the United States.

The agreement will expand the Roche Vitamins product offering, attracting food and beverage manufacturers who use niacin as a healthy ingredient in formulations.

Under terms of the agreement, Lonza has discontinued direct sales and distribution of its Niacin USP food fortification product in the United States and Roche Vitamins has become a distributor of the product. Roche Vitamins has also made Lonza its sole provider of Niacin USP for food use in the US.

Roche added that its technical experts will assist food and beverage makers on a one-to-one basis in creating Niacin USP-fortified applications with strong consumer appeal.
