OleoMed America, a subsidiary of healthcare product distributor The Pharmed Group, has added herbs and vitamins to its pharmaceutical-grade olive oil to produce three new formulas designed to fight weight, wrinkles and restless nights.
Carlos de Cespedes, chairman and CEO of OleoMed America, said: "By using pharmaceutical-grade olive oil as the delivery agent in our products, the vitamins and minerals are more quickly absorbed by the body to improve health."
The Weight formula contains the olive oil and the herbs Citrus aurantium, Garcinia cambogia and Guarana. Citrus aurantium, a fruit commonly known as bitter orange, is widely used for stimulating the breakdown of fat and encouraging healthy and permanent weight loss. Garcinia cambogia inhibits the body's conversion of excess glucose into fat and reduces appetite, according to the company. Guarana is a caffeine-containing herb, which is used as a natural stimulant. It is also considered an appetite suppressant.
The Cell Q-10 formula is said to help rejuvenate cells and has antioxidant properties which protect against lipid peroxidation. Research has shown Coenzyme Q10 to be beneficial in the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease, cardiovascular disease, congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, cancer, immune deficiency and many other disorders, said OleoMed. Designed to help diminish existing wrinkles, the product also helps reduce further signs of aging and improves the efficiency of energy production at the cellular level, according to the company. The Sleep formula blend uses three natural products - Valeriana officinalis, Passionflower, and Hops - to promote sleep and relaxation. Valeriana officinalis, commonly called Valerian, has been used as a sedative and sleep aid for several thousand years. Passionflower is effective in calming the nervous system said the company, while hops also calm the central nervous system and safely induce sleep.
The OleoMed America olive oil dietary supplement comes in soft gel capsules. It is currently available at Eckerd Drugs and Whole Food supermarkets throughout Florida, South Florida Publix supermarkets, South Florida and Puerto Rico-based Walgreen's, Miami-based Navarro's and Sedano's.
