Bravo Foods fortifies milk range

US flavoured milks company Bravo! Foods International has introduced Slammers Reduced Fat Fortified Milk, its first nutritionally enriched flavoured milk range.

Bravo! Foods International, a marketing company that holds the Looney Tunes license to make and distribute flavoured milks, said it has introduced Slammers Reduced Fat Fortified Milk, its first nutritionally enriched flavoured milk range.

The Slammers flavoured milk range is rich in calcium and protein and contains 11 vitamins: A, C, D, E, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid, B6, B12 and biotin. A single serving of Slammers milk satisfies between 20-50 per cent of the Recommended Daily Allowance of these 11 essential vitamins and minerals in a 2000-calorie diet, claims the company.

Slammers milk will be first introduced this month in New York. The range is packaged in aseptic packaging which keeps the milk fresh for months, without the need for refrigeration or preservatives. From November, Slammers will also be available in a refrigerated extended shelf-life package. Bravo! Foods said that Slammers milk will be available across the US by December 2002.

Roy Warren, CEO of Bravo! Foods International, said: "November 2002 will be a busy month as we convert our entire product line to the vitamin-enriched Slammers line. Increasing the healthiness of milk and keeping the same great taste is truly a breakthrough in the single serve milk market. Kids of all ages can expect…several different packages; aseptic tetra brick, octagonal prisma and the original diary aisle plastic resealable bottle."

Bravo! Foods holds a license from Warner Bros. Consumer Products to utilise the Looney Tunes characters and names on milk products throughout the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, China and Mexico. The milk is available in the US through production agreements with regional dairies.
