US maker of herbal and medicinal teas Flora is introducing Bija
Healing Teas to the American market. The teas, which come in nine
different formulas, will create a new category, according to the
company - functional teas.

US maker of herbal and medicinal teas Flora is introducing Bija Healing Teas to the American market.

Bija tea bags, made with the highest quality ingredients, according to Flora​, come in nine formulas including Rooibos Antioxidant, made with the South African rooibos herb, Double Ginseng, Double Ginger and Echinacea and Elderberry. The teas are double bagged for optimum extraction.

Simran Khalsa, formulator of Bija Teas and international business development manager for Flora, said: "Combining the healing properties and great taste of organic herbs Bija marks the birth of a new category of beverage, the functional tea."

Flora will be hoping to capitalise on the rising tea consumption and growth of the functional food market in America.Bija Healing Teas are manufactured in Flora's tea packaging facilities in Burnaby, Canada.

Bija Healing Teas will be available in US health food stores from this month. Flora is also launching a national advertising campaign along with a retailer support programme, using in-store displays and eye-catching packaging, together with e-marketing promotions.
