US-based juice business Nantucket Nectars has introduced a new range of carbonated juices called Nectar Fizz.

The company said the new range, like its other products, was made with natural ingredients, sweetened with only cane sugar and contained 90 calories or less per serving.

Nectar Fizz is packaged in 16 oz proprietary bottles and is available in Blackberry Fizz, Cranberry Fizz, Lemonade Fizz, Orange Mango Fizz, Pink Grapefruit Fizz and Raspberry Lime Fizz flavours. The NectarFizz single serve bottles are taller than those used in its other ranges and have a signature contour design with embossed bubbles.

"For over 10 years, Nantucket Nectars has been committed to making high quality juice products. NectarFizz is the latest example of this commitment, as it combines the benefits of juice with the refreshment qualities of carbonation," said Nantucket Nectars co-founder Tom First. "Our consumers have been asking us for a juice that is light, refreshing and lower in calories."

NectarFizz is currently being sold in three launch markets - Burlington, Vermont, Denver, Colorado and Washington, D.C. It can also be found at Au Bon Pain bakery cafes across the United States and will be available nationwide in January 2003.

Earlier this year Nantucket Nectars was bought by the Snapple Beverage Group, a unit of British company Cadbury Schweppes, which also owns the Snapple, Mistic, Orangina, Stewart's and Yoo-hoo brands. Other Nectar products include 100 per cent fruit juices, juice cocktails and not-from-concentrate teas and lemonades.
