Two US-based companies have announced changes to their management this week. BI Nutraceuticals has appointed Katie Ferren as director of its botanical products division, while Nutraceutical Clinical Laboratories International has named Paul Winniczuk as director of beverage research & development.
As director of botanical products at BI, Ferren will be responsible for strategic direction of the company's herbal extracts and herbal powders and teas divisions.
BI Nutraceuticals is a supplier of nutritional ingredients servicing the dietary supplement, pharmaceutical and food industries, and manufactures, markets and distributes a diverse range of products such as herb powders and teas, fruit and vegetable ingredients, herbal extracts and other nutritional supplements.
Ferren joins BI Nutraceuticals after more than seven years of experience in the natural products industry. Prior to joining BI, she served as marketing director for OptiPure/Soft Gel Technologies, as well as holding various sales and marketing posts at American Nutraceutical Products.
Meanwhile, Winniczuk joins NCLII after several years as a microbiology specialist at Vitality Beverage, a leading supplier of private label juices to grocery store chains in the US. He was previously quality assurance auditor and food scientist for Slim Fast Foods.
He will be involved with helping NCLII develop an alternative to toxic chemical preservatives for the beverage industry. The company's flagship product is NuPreserv, a new food preservative product used in the bakery market.
